Have you noticed that when talking to people, inevitably food issues always comes up in one way or other? Has happened to me a lot lately. (And no, not only because I’m now a consultant, though I guess that my studies has something to do with it. 😉 )

Everybody has an opinion. Not surprising, as food is both necessary for life and part of our culture.

When you talk to people, or read the magazines for that matter, you often hear statements presented as “trues”, though when you check into it they’re actually only myths.

These are the food myths I’ve encountered. Some of them I’ve written about before (linked) and some I’ll write about in future posts. In no particular order:

    Nice post!
    Here are my favourite food/health related myths:
    You need to drink milk for healthy bones and teeth.
    You need to eat whole grains for optimal health.
    Consuming moderate amounts of alcohol in general, and red wine in particular, prevents breast cancer.
