Who Needs Carbs

managing an LCHF lifestyle in Israel

Once upon a time

For many months I’ve been reading up on all kinds of researches about our diet. And on what basis our modern dietetics stand.

Apparently it all started in the U.S. about 50 years ago with “The Seven Nations” research which examined the correlation between fats in food and heart disease. The researcher, Ansel Keyes, found a connection and advised to go low-fat. Two American congressmen began to publish the findings and then snowball started to roll: tips for eating (which soon became the norm and not just advice), food pyramid, low-fat food industry etc..

BUT – It turned out that the study didn’t give these facts. Ansel Keyes examined 20 countries and only in 7 of them he found a connection. Simple calculation gives that in almost the double amount of states (i.e. in 13 countries) there is no connection at all!

Oops …
